R-type rivets are a common mechanical fastener, open-ended blind rivets. They have a fire rating of 94V-2 and a temperature range of -30-130°C.
Key Features
- Single-sided riveting: Installation requires only one side of the workpiece for installation, which is its core feature.
- Open expansion: During riveting, the mandrel is pulled in, forcing the end of the shank to expand and open, forming an “R”-shaped flare, thereby clamping the workpiece.
- Non-removable: After installation, the mandrel is pulled apart or permanently locked, creating a permanent connection and generally not reusable.
